The panthers here are friendly. They won't eat you. Scratch the bottom of their chins. They love this and will purr when you do it.
Secluded and quiet. There were deer in the campsite next to us in the morning and I saw a copperhead! Just make sure to check the weather first, we got rained on like crazy and the bugs came out in full force. Overall, a great place to camp.
這個營地非常的大自然,沒有水沒有電,沒有水泥路,不過營地很大,也滿有隱私感的,覺得很舒服。
We went there everything was good.no problems, this is in everglades, and the campground is fine. I m picky I would have more workers rack areas.
I really enjoyed my stay here the first time. It was free, but all things come to an end. They started charging just a couple of years ago. The campground was semi-maintained at this time. But the money shortage must have been an issue. Perhaps its well maintained at this time. The grass gets a little tall in the campsites and makes one nervous. Hopefully they will have the funds to maintain it better now. The outhouses were plentiful and well kept. There isn't any potable water. However, my experiences the first time is something I will never forget. Love how secluded it is. You will hear the distant vehicle traffic from I-75 at night though. It is a long 20 + miles ride down dirt roads to the campsites. There is an emergency entrance and exit for authorities through locked gates on a closer road, should an emergency arise. If you need to leave in a hurry, you can't. If you are looking for primitive camping with amenities, it's here. If you want to see wildlife, you have to leave in the morning, (by bicycle) and later in the afternoon, just a few hours before dusk. Hope this helped. Enjoy my photos!
